Some People's Other Other Projects...

If you have been with us for awhile, you might remember this little (literally) quandary:

Home Again, Home Again, Jiggety Jog, aka, the trouble with tribbles teeny tiny apartments.

Some People have been doing their darndest to tackle this not so teensy task... with clever & surprisingly stylish results:

What to do with the smallest bedroom on the planet which needs to accomodate four (!) people & has a closet which takes up 1/4 of the space?

Remember?

1) Get rid of that boat of a bed.
2) Get rid of that megalith of a closet & replace it with...

Oooh, geeze!
That closet's the size of the entire bedroom!

Hey! Thank's for the help uncle Blake!

Big closet, Big style, Big improvement!

Some People do nice work! Thanks Daddy! :)

Graduation! (Again.)

Some People are very lucky indeed. Some People, aka. Rowan got to graduate from preschool twice. This time it's for real. Last year's ceremony was indoors & much more elaborate, but frankly, Some People think the simplicity of this year's event was most welcome.

Next year he heads across the lawn to the "big school." Hooray for Rowan! Of course, he has already informed certain parents that he really hope "all this elementary & high school stuff" goes by quickly so he can "get on to college & start doing his paleontology." I say, "SLOW DOWN! Enjoy the ride!"

Gads, what's the hurry? Sheesh! Some (Little) People!

Processing to the "stage."

Group photo. Heya!

Only one more please! These people are squishing me!

Below, if you choose,  you can see two a videos of a songs performed by the class. I wanted to share a second, but apparently blogger does not like that one. This year's songs were fewer, shorter & more upbeat. Last year, Moma cried through several songs. What is most noticeable about Rowan in these this videos is his clear discomfort with his personal space being imposed upon. All my stills of him throughout the performance show him making disgruntled faces at his neighbors for sticking elbows, arms, fingers, hands, etc. in his face. Hence, no stills. In a way, it is amusing, but it definitely says something about his temperament.

Gah, people! Why so close?

Woohoo! Bring on the elbow room!!!

Portfolios & hugs.

Finally! The rootbeer floats...
now THIS is why I came!

Carrying his graduation gift to Kessies.
Doesn't he just look like a little graduate
on his way to bigger & better things?

What could it be?

"Get Ready for Kindergarten"

This is gonna be a breeze...

For Daddy: Things Happening in Our Yard

Since Some of Us know you really think we are hanging around eating bon bons & all our talk of yardwork is just a ruse...

Just the front yard, for now:

Seeded side with banjo-fabulous sprinkler system.
THANK YOU Poppie!

Plugs, plugs, plugs, plugs... Gah!

Plugs & more plugs!
Oh, & some small trees & shrubs.

We liberated the Sand Cherries...

Front view.
(Look at those roses taking over the world!)

Locust in bloom... since you always miss them.
Too bad we can't post in scent because they
smell heavenly!

 BOOM BOOM!

BLOOM!

Pinks.

Lavendar Iris (not sure you've seen this colour).

Soapwort spreading everywhere.

Even the Snowberries are getting into the game.

Love you/miss you Daddy! :)

Some People's Kitchen Project: So Many Distractions Part 4

Some People have yet more reasons for the unfinished Kitchen Project... like other unfinished projects! Just before it was time for Some People to leave the desert Southwest for more Northerly climes, they embarked on an ambitious, yet hurried shingling project:

One Apple, no wait... One Person up on top!

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve...

....and they all played games, er, layed shingles, at the Ladybug Picnic.

Only one thing is better than having access to a sage advisor...

...having access to a sage advisor AND starting the
project with time to finish it...

The Scoreboard:

Finished Projects = 0
Unfinished Projects = 3

Geeze, Some People are really on a streak!

'Tis the Season... to Play Ball!

First game & new team shirt.

Rowan started playing t-ball last week. Some People think he is still working out how he feels about it, but, as with any new skill, there are things one must overcome... Like the obsessive desire to search through the grass for insects while in the outfield. Really, who can blame him? The outfield is what wee folks would call, "BOR-ing!"

How's my hair? I mean, my helmet.

Batting practice... sheesh! This helmet is driving me nuts!

 Batter up!

Run & just keep on running...

Except of course, when it's time to stop.
Then it's best not to need someone to restrain you.

Almost to home plate!
Look! I'm levitating!

 Heyyy... what's over there?
Ugh. How long will I have to stand out here?

FINALLY!
A ball! A ball! It's a ball! *pant, pant*
